1. Try not to make changes mid kitchen build

Try to get your kitchen fully modeled and all the materials needed, ready to go before the build starts as delays and changes can hold up the process and can cost a lot of money.

2. Layout and Functionality

Without the right kitchen design, meal preparation can go from seamless and natural to a task that’s awkward and challenging. When planning a kitchen renovation you need to take into account not only the design aesthetics but the functionality, layout and storage needs. These factors can mean the difference between a good and bad kitchen.

3. Overwhelming of small spaces

Be careful not to overwhelm your kitchen if you only have a small space. There are plenty of options and layouts you can have but don’t try to include everything and anything. Remember minimalism is key! An example is having a big kitchen island in a small kitchen, this can make the kitchen seem smaller than it actually is, instead opt for a smaller kitchen island. You can use open shelving to help make the kitchen seem larger, but those open shelves need to have minimalist items, this is where practicality will come in.

4. Materials

Remember materials can look completely different in a showroom compared to your house. Take a sample of each of the materials you chose home with you and put them around and have look at them at various times of the day, make sure it matches the rest of your house
